Transmission 1.83 (10040) just not running.

Im running on macbook pro OSX version 10.5.8
After installing the update 1.83 my transmission has freezed completly. It says port is open -I've even randomized it several times. When i look at the inspector it looks like there are no peers or trackers. My firewall is open for transmission downloads and upload.
Ive installed BitTorrent client just to see if this would be able to run and it is running perfectly.
However -I do like my transmission more and really would like to fix the problem.
I've tried trashing it and reinstalling. Nothing works.
I am not very tech-savvy so I need help in a very black/white way.
I've looked through the forum but havent seemed to find a likewise problem.

i trashed version 1.83 and reinstalled 1.82 and now everything is working great again... I'll guess I'll just have to wait updating it a month or two till everything is fixed and all the trackers out there recognizes it.
