Problem when closing transmission

It would seem I have solved my problem. If this changes, I will post the appropriate CrashReporter logs.

After reexamining the logs, I saw reference to a Contextual Menu plugin that seemed tied up in the hang problem. Why this was not an issue with earlier versions and why a Contextual Menu Item would affect Transmission, I don't know. After removing it and rebooting, Transmission now quits normally.

OK... I spoke prematurely. While my described solution seemed to fix certain instances of Transmission hanging on quit, it still does it sometimes. What exactly do you want me to post?

When I launch Transmission I get this and everything works as expected:

Concerning the disk permissions: I won't do it since I've read the following:

"Repair Disk Permissions" can only verify and repair permissions of files that were installed via Apple's Installer utility, thereby leaving a receipt package in teh /Library/Receipts folder (meaning, for example, the command will have no effect on software "installed" via a drag-and-drop or via a different installer utility.

This is the case with Transmission.

Try a clean re-installation of Transmission.app and it's support, preference and cache files (keep a copy of .torrent files).

This may or may not be relevant, but try waiting longer (1-2 min.), before invoking force quit.

Plugins definitely could be an issue and maybe also that app enhancer. Try disabling them if possible.

Troubleshoot like a Genius

Thanks but... replaced the app and pref files and removed the application enhancer haxies and neither was the problem. I can wait 10 minutes and it is still quitting. If it was just a long wait problem, it wouldn't say "(not responding)" in the Force Quit Applications dialog.

Version 1.76 works as expected here when quitting Transmission. Something in 1.8x crashes when closing.
