Pointing Transmission to existing torrents after diskcrash

Post by Wizzzy »

I am keeping my torrents on an external volume for seeding. The disk was behaving badly, but I had a good backup. Now I want to use a new external volume for my torrents, but am unable to figure out how to tell transmission that the location has changed. I cannot use 'move' because the bad disk can no longer be mounted. Also I do no longer have the original .torrent files. Any advice?

OSX 10.5.8 Transmission 1.83

Thanks.

This did not work. T started trying to re-download the torrents anyway, making a fake volume in my .vol directory with the old volume name. I solved the problem though, by using another external volume, placing the exact same folder structure with the files on it and naming it as the old disk. T fell for the trick and I used the contextual menu to move the datafiles to the new location. All is working fine now.

Thanks for your reply anyway!
