Won't start downloads

Hello. I'm running Transmission 1.83 on OSX, and recently Transmission won't start downloading torrents until I close out and restart the application. Sometimes I have to do this multiple times, and it happens regardless of how many people are seeding the file. Is anyone experiencing similar problems and/or know how to fix it? Thanks.

I get this too. I love transmission, but this is a drag.

Are you waiting for the announce to complete and provide you with peers?

Forgive my lack of technical knowledge; I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. The torrent goes to Transmission fine, it reads as an active download, but it won't connect to any peers. I hope I'm explaining it well enough... =\

I have this same issue. When new torrents are added (torrents added in a previous session work fine) to Transmission, the torrent will hang even after announcing. The new torrent file will only start once I have restarted Transmission completely. Very cumbersome to say the least.

I also have the same problem. It appears to have been introduced in 1.8. Rolling back to 1.75 "solves" the problem

Yes, the announce keeps timing out. Is there a way to fix this, other than rolling back to an older version? Thanks again.
