Can I remotely manage my downloads?

I'd like to start downloads on my desktop at home while I'm at school. I don't think that's possible, but can I look at their status?

You could use the built in web-interface or something like transmission-remote-gui http://code.google.com/p/transmisson-remote-gui/

You can use SSH to connect to your computers commandline via school or whatever to control your torrents via transmissioncli or you can use transmission-daemon/transmission-remote or you can setup a WebUI to control it thru a web browser all though this is a bit more limited control than the former 2 options.
