Group labeling

Post by bonym »

I don't have Mac, I dont use it, BUT,
I read Mac Transmission has 'Group labeling, filtering, and sorting ' in v1.00.
What does it mean?
Does transmission stores an extra field: label?
(othen - not Mac - clients don't handle labeling, do they?)
If you connect to your Mac Transmission using RPC (other GUI, like Transmmission Remote Gui on win/linux), can you see/modify this field?
Or label handling is only the part of the Mac Transmission client?
please help me!
thanks

I have torrents added to a "Downloading" group according to tracker automatically. I then change the group to "Seeding" and the then "Paused". This just helps in management of torrents, especially when there are hundreds! I don't know if and how this is implemented on other versions of Transmission.

thanks,
so you cannot add your own label (like: 'favourits'), and move a torrents into this group/label?

you can add a group, you can give it a name/label (and a colour 8-) ) of your choice, and you can set criteria (based around torrent name, tracker names, filenames, comments) for torrents to be automatically added to it, and/or add them to it manually.

i have three groups set up to automatically take torrents from specific private trackers, and another one that takes my tv shows that are automatically downloaded via rss from well-known public sources.
