A different 'port problem'

Post by crunk11 »

I've searched google and these forums but haven't found any post describing situation like mine.

I can't get the automatical port frowarding to work. Whatever I do, the port is still closed. The most annoying is the fact that it WORKS in ųTorrent!
I've tried pointing the two to the same port and made them download the same torrent. ųTorrent downloaded it fast, and showed that port is open.
Then I launched Transmission - the speed was much lower, and the port was closed.

I don't get it: if these two programs use the same protocols to open the ports why is one successful and the other is not?

I'm that kind of guy who likes to have everything working top-notch. And I probably could get the ports to work manually after scerwing with the settings
for hours, but I prefer just to get that **** automatical port forwarding to work (especially when I know that it COULD work - bacause I've seen it work in ųTorrent)

I would be very grateful is anyone could help me with this. While ųTorrent does it's job and downloads the files I find Transimssion way better when it comes
to design and overall usability. And, of course, it's a native Mac app, and I love my Mac! :P

(I tried it with the last version of Transmission, and I have Snow Leopard 10.6.4)

Thanks!
