Transmission has been working excellent for me since I started using it 8 months ago.
However the recent 2.11 update seem to have done something to cause slow download speeds.
I not changed any port forwarding configuration and Transmission and http://www.utorrent.com/testport?port=nnnn both show my port is open.
Typically for high seeded torrents I would be downloading anywhere from 600 - 1000 KB/s while uploading around 40 KB/s.
Now it jumps between 0 - 100 KB/s and rarely uploads. Has been like this since the update.
I have tested with several popular torrents (lots of seeders) and torrents from a private tracker I use (which is almost always super fast downloads).
Everything is slow. I've rebooted, restarted my router, restarted the cable modem, nothing fixes this.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Anything I can do or try?
Thanks for any help in advance!
Slow sleeps after 2.11 Update
Re: Slow sleeps after 2.11 Update
Yes! Glad to know I'm not the only one. I have been using Transmission for a few years now and have always been able to download without internet slowdown. Ever since this update, ANY torrent I try to download, no matter how small, severely slows down my internet. I have not changed any of my settings which I have always had since the beginning. My partner and I both work from home and I'm no longer able to download torrents at the same time we're working on our computers. I have to turn on Transmission to work overnight. I'm hoping this issue is able to be fixed.

Re: Slow sleeps after 2.11 Update
I actually don't think the slow down is due to the update.
I tried a few different clients and all are slower than usual.
None of my settings have changes so my best guess at this point is that my ISP has started getting a little more aggressive on the throttling front.
I'm on Rogers cable High Speed Extreme in case anyone is wondering or has same issues.

Re: Slow sleeps after 2.11 Update
I'm with AT&T. Not sure if that's the issue though.
And just to be clear -- I'm not saying my torrent download speeds are slow. I think maybe that's what the OP was saying, but my torrents seem to be doing just fine since the update. I'm talking about when I'm downloading a torrent and then try to do anything else on the internet. Web pages can take up to 30sec to load. Transmission slows down my internet speed with 2.11 and still with the newer update, 2.12, but never used to do this.
