Hi have a problem with with 2.12 that never used to happen in 2.11 on an Intel core duo mac mini
I have transmission set to prevent sleeping while active transfers are running, but when the transfers stop the mac should go to sleep a few seconds after as it did in 2.11, but instead it stays on.
I have to reset the smc on the mac for the sleep function to work again
Could this be a bug?
2.12 not putting mac to sleep after transfers complete
Re: 2.12 not putting mac to sleep after transfers complete
Thanks
I have tried that as well as reset the smc my energy saving settings are set to put the mac to sleep after 2 hours of inactivity
for eg i start a torrent at 3 am it downloads in 30 mins seeds for approx 2 hours, when the ratio is hit the torrent stops and the mac should go to sleep but it doesn't, it stays on all day.
Note that there is nothing else going on while my torrents are downloading/seeding no keyboard or mouse moves only app open is transmission.
going to try 2.11 again just to be sure

Hello,
I have the same problem as well. Checking the "prevent sleeping..." or not does not make any difference..
thanks,
Boon

Re: 2.12 not putting mac to sleep after transfers complete
Transmission doesn't force the computer to sleep on its own, it only blocks it. Something else may be keeping your computer up. AFAIK, there was no change between 2.11 and 2.12 that was related this.

Thanks for the replies
Went back to 2.11 running for a bout a week now, it works like I expect it too, transfers finish and mac goes to sleep a few mins after. This is what it has always done. But 2.12 keeps the mac on after transfers have finished.
There is nothing else running on the Mac apart from Transmission, i only use it for TV, and not as a Home computer.
