I have this behavior since upgrade to 2.20 ... I have to select "Verify local data" from the menu, then the torrents gets verified and Transmission starts seeding. This is a bug.

What does your Message Log [Debug] say when you add the torrent?
This it what it says:

Code: Select all

2011-02-08 22:57:48 +0100 Controller.m:1874 [Info] Transmission: restarting download torrent in mac queue
2011-02-08 22:57:48 +0100 Torrent.m:318 [Info] XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX: restarting via startTransfer
2011-02-08 22:57:50 +0100 torrent.c:506 [Debug] XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX: Got 30 peers from tracker
it's bad. The torrent starts to download again, i.e. data is transferred although all of it is already there. As soon as I do "Verify local data" from the menu, all the data is verified and seeding begins.

x190 wrote:The data has to be in your default download location for it to be auto-verified when you first add the created torrent (or any torrent for which you might have previously downloaded data). If you move the data elsewhere or even put it in the default d/l location after the add window appears or torrent is added but paused, then you must use "Verify Local Data".
Does it? Well this certainly was not the case in the previous version. In fact, I think it shouldn't matter where the data lies, as long as I point Transmission to the correct location.
