For every torrent I download, I set its destination to my fileserver, which my Mac is connected to via Samba. When I view Transmission's Debug log, I see a constant stream of "Prefetch failed" messages; literally hundreds every second, for each active torrent.
Is that anything to be concerned about? Does it have any impact on performance? I imagine it's got to.
"Prefetch failed" spam when saving to a Samba share
Re: "Prefetch failed" spam when saving to a Samba share
Anybody? I'm getting long, frequent lockups of Transmission when I'm downloading to the Samba share at anything over 3 megabytes a second, and I'm thinking this might be at least part of the problem. Finder has no problem writing to the share at those speeds and higher.
Re: "Prefetch failed" spam when saving to a Samba share
I would be very surprised if that's causing the log... but IMO that's a useless error message anyway. I'll remove it for 2.32 if you'll open a ticket so that I don't forget about it
