Transmission 2.30 on Mac OS 10.4
Transmission 2.30 on Mac OS 10.4
Hello,
I am still using Tiger but wanted to have the last version of Transmission so I have built Transmission 2.30b4 for Tiger.
It uses the Qt interface so it doesn't look as good as the Cocoa version but it is a small price to pay for DHT, UDP trackers, magnet links, etc.
PS : It is an universal binary.

Thanks; can you build a ppc version of transmission-daemon?

Thank you very very much!!!
Maybe transmission coder can give you a little space in download page or create a qt/daemon universal repository.

OK, daemon works perfectly launched in its folder; I added web interface in /usr/local/share and it work too.
Pcc daemon now need only an installer and a startup script.
Thank you again for your work.

Here is an installer (that will install in /usr/local/...) and a very basic launch script.
I have tried to create a launchd agent but am not really familiar with these things so I gave up when the daemon ended up being launched 4 times at startup...

Re: Transmission 2.30 on Mac OS 10.4
Can I suggest you adding web interface into the installer
Re: Transmission 2.30 on Mac OS 10.4
You're too quick man !
I forgot to add it and realized that 5 minutes later. Redownload it, it should be here now.

Great. You revitalized my 12" PPC with Tiger. Thanks for that.
A few issues, if you are interested:
Drag and drop doesn't work, not after restart, not after suffix-change to go with build. Only manual opening of torent.
"could not connect to server" on web-interface is the "welcome message" - I guess that is the home seed-box - but I cannot access the preferences. They do not come up.
But nice one, the web-interface.
cheers,
thimk
PS: Afterthought: How come the webinterface has the new gui, while the PPC build has the old?

Re: Transmission 2.30 on Mac OS 10.4
Well, it is not a native Cocoa application, so I am not sure things like drag and drop can work.
The Web interface is written on HTML/JavaScript and does not depend on the main application.
Did you use my installer to install the daemon and the Web interface ? It should work.thimk wrote: "could not connect to server" on web-interface is the "welcome message" - I guess that is the home seed-box - but I cannot access the preferences. They do not come up.
It is not the old Cocoa GUI but the QT GUI originally created for Linux.thimk wrote: PS: Afterthought: How come the webinterface has the new gui, while the PPC build has the old?

Yes, I used your installer.
When Clicking the preferences now, I get the same image up, which greets me upon opening: "Connection failed. Could not connect to server. You may need to reloade the page tio reconnect"
But to WHICH server? Where do I set the server, if not under preferences?
It is a bit unstable, Transmission. Slow to respond to key clicks, eg. on pause, and easily hangs in the proces.

Re: Transmission 2.30 on Mac OS 10.4
If you launch the Web interface from transmission-qt you have to set the preferences in the Web tab of transmission-qt's preferences.
If not, you have to configure it with the daemon.

If he launches the server from QT, it won't appear in the activity monitor as it is part of the application.barone rosso wrote: check with Activity Monitor if the daemon is running.
