port mapping & other settings

Hey,

I have a couple quick questions, been surfing for days trying to get everything to work like it should, but it just doesnt seem to want to seed like it should. but maybe im just being picky.

1. does "port-forward-enabled" in the settings file controls both UPnP and NAT port mapping?
2. if i have forwarded a port manually from my router i can safely turn that off right?
3. can i now leave DHT & PEX enabled, even though i almost never use public trackers?
4. are there ANY other settings i need to worry about or change to optimise my transmission?... (i will sort of QoS when i have the time, but QoS only helps torrenting at the same time as something else right? wouldnt make seeding/leeching any faster?)
5. most of the time people only upload from me around 20-30 kb/s (if at all) but sometimes someone will reach proper speeds (4-9 Mb/s). if i do occasionally reach these speeds, is everything working like it should but im just connecting to slow peers or peers that are connected to many other seeders, right?

Transmission uses KB or MB per second meaning 1/8 of kb or mb per second.

Yes, of course i meant kB/s and MB/s. (or KiB/s and MiB/s if we are gonna be real picky). But yeah i have read the slow speeds wiki several times. My only question left is if i sometimes manage to max my upstream (close to 10 MiB/s) but usually only seed at around 50 KiB/s the problem is on the leechers end and not mine, right?

EDIT: I should add i have now checked and tried to fix EVERYTHING in my power. I have:
1. Bought a new router (Linksys E3000). Installed with DD-WRT.
2. Checked bandwidth. Out from router i get 94 Mbit down and 81 MBit up.
3. Checked if my ISP is blocking anything through Glasnost. All tests were fine. BitTorrent not being blocked.
4. Used canyouseeme.org to check if my port is open. It is open.
5. Forwarded port manually in router. Turned off "port-forward-enabled" i settings.json.
6. Uploaded torrents and asked high-speed mates to download from me. Reached 10 MiB/s.
