Thank you for the timely reply.
There is only one router in my network and my OS X firewall is entirely disabled.
Any other possibilities?

Re: Peer Listening Port Not Opening
Ahhhh..... Forgot about LS. I don't hear from it much. In fact, it isn't giving me any grief about Transmission.
I have not tried manually PF'ing. Haven't needed to for the past year and a half that I've been using Transmission... or the past several months that I've been using LS...
I may also need to mention that Transmission has started crashing randomly within the past few days. I had recently moved some downloaded files and changed default file placements, also. Now that I think about it, this is pretty much when all the trouble started. Sorry for not mentioning this sooner. It just came to mind.
Relevant?

Re: Peer Listening Port Not Opening
Okay.... Maybe I am wrongly assuming that the port being closed is the cause of the problem instead of just a symptom.
When I try to download, Transmission goes through the process of finding peers and then it actually appears to begin the download, i.e., progress bar moves, MB count and percentage increases, etc., - but a little after 1% into it, the download stops and produces an error which reads "Error: No such file or directory (/Users/etc.)". Sometimes Transmission crashes after the download stops. No downloaded data is found in my download folder.
By any chance, does this shed a different light on the subject?

Re: Peer Listening Port Not Opening
Solved everything!... although peer searches do seem to take quite a bit longer.... and it downloads unchecked files again... but....

Re: Peer Listening Port Not Opening
Dear all,
I was hoping you could help me with a port forwarding problem that I can't seem to be able to solve. I'm running OS X 10.7 and my router is a D-Link DIR-825.
Initially Transmission was telling me the port was closed, so I went to my router and set an open port just as portforward.com had indicated for my specific router. Now when I run the log I get:
2011-09-09 13:26:28 +0000 port-forwarding.c:181 [Info] Port Forwarding: Stopped
2011-09-09 13:26:28 +0000 upnp.c:169 [Info] Port Forwarding (UPnP): Stopping port forwarding through "http://192.168.0.1:65535/ctl/IPConn", service "urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:WANIPConnection:1"
2011-09-09 13:26:28 +0000 port-forwarding.c:93 [Info] Port Forwarding: State changed from "Forwarded" to "Starting"

2011-09-09 13:26:29 +0000 natpmp.c:72 [Info] Port Forwarding (NAT-PMP): sendpublicaddressrequest succeeded (2)

2011-09-09 13:26:29 +0000 upnp.c:115 [Info] Port Forwarding (UPnP): Local Address is "192.168.0.150"
2011-09-09 13:26:29 +0000 upnp.c:221 [Info] Port Forwarding (UPnP): Port forwarding through "http://192.168.0.1:65535/ctl/IPConn", service "urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:WANIPConnection:1". (local address: 192.168.0.150:51413)
2011-09-09 13:26:29 +0000 upnp.c:224 [Info] Port Forwarding (UPnP): Port forwarding successful!
2011-09-09 13:26:29 +0000 port-forwarding.c:93 [Info] Port Forwarding: State changed from "Not forwarded" to "Forwarded"
However, a couple of seconds later I get the same red-button "port is closed" notice. The Mac Network Utility tells me that the port I designated is open, but most tellingly canyouseeme.org says the port is still blocked.
I've tried switching from DHCP to DHCP with a manual address (I can't get a simple manual address to work) in the TCP/ICP settings, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've read that it might involve putting my router into "bridge mode", but I'm not even sure my router does that/has that problem.
I'm not very experienced in all this but I'm trying my best. Any thoughts? Any help?
Thank you!
