Old version installation

Post by unblocktheplanet »

I updated to Transmission 2.41 on my Intel 2.33 GHz MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8.

The new Transmission hangs randomly. Sometimes it restarts itself, mostly not. Force-quitting and restarting Transmission usually results in 0.0 and 0.0 which sometimes resolves and sometimes not.

Speedtest bandwidth results normal and it is unlikely my ISP in Thailand throttles.

So I decided to return to 2.40b3 with which I had no problems whatsoever. However, on downloading transmission-2.40.tar.xz and transmission-2.40.tar.bz2, I get only a folder full of files none of which have that Transmission icon to drag to my Applications folder.

Questions: Where do I get Transmission 2.40? Are others having this problem?

Might it be a port issue? If so, why with 2.41? And how does one change ports?

Thanks for your help. Transmission has always been awesome.
