I am running transmission on my MBP over wifi, I opened ports on my router, enabled UPNP, opened access in little snitch, and no matter what I do, after 20-30m of Transmission running, all the Internet access to my computer locks up. I've tried changing ports, limiting upload+download speeds, but the result is always the same. I have to reboot in order to restore access.
Has anyone experienced this?
I even tried an oddball way of having Automator open and close Transmission for 15m lengths with 2m breaks, but still, when the time culminates to 20-30m of running, my Internet to my computer locks... Even though the computer reports complete wifi signal and all other devices on my network are fine...
Ideas?
Thanks.
Transmission locks Internet access after 20m

When this "lock" happens, if you disconnect from your router and then try to reconnect, are you able to? (I am assuming you are on a wireless connection)
Re: Transmission locks Internet access after 20m
Interesting, when I turn off wifi and turn back on, it does work...
Re: Transmission locks Internet access after 20m
However, yet again after turning off and turning wifi back on, the problem persists.

I don't know, but I was reading this:

I am going to try to stop sharing with non-encrypted peers and see if that improves the situation.

Re: Transmission locks Internet access after 20m
In my experience, Transmission is very intrusive to Mac OS X. It completely kills the whole network stack on a daily basis, forcing users to reboot or re-establish network connections. Since this issue has been present forever, I doubt it will ever be fixed.
Re: Transmission locks Internet access after 20m
After being active for a few minutes Transmission appears to be locking up my router (NetComm NB5Plus4 ADSL2+) so I can't even log onto my modem's configuration page.
No browser or Mail can access the net when this happens.
All the lights on the router stay on so there's no problem on the other side of it.
It gets so that even Transmission (v2.33) can't get out.
But a few minutes after pausing all activity in Transmission everything comes good.
This has only started to happen recently. I've can't recall doing anything to provoke it.

Re: Transmission locks Internet access after 20m
Just to add, I've been experiencing a similar problem recently. Whilst not completely locked up, browsing became very slow while using transmission and I'd have to refresh a page several times to get it to load. Even after quitting Transmission the problem would persist and I'd have to restart my router to clear it.
I'd already limited to the upload speed to 60% of available, but that didn't help matters. After reading the last comment here I limited connections to 100, Disabled uTP and DHT, restarted the router for good measure and now have super fast internet speeds whilst downloading and seeding at respectable speeds too. Problem solved (just hoping I'm not speaking too soon
)
Thanks
