Authentication

Post by john_es »

I am running Transmission on my ReadyNas and want to set it up so that I need to authenticate to connect to the web interface. How can I do that? I tried searching in the forums and can't seem to find anything related to it.

Thanks,
John

You can use one of the other front ends instead of the Web client, those can set up the configuration using a graphical interface.

Here's an example using Transmission-Qt (on Windows) which can work in local or remote sessions (your case is a remote session connected to your transmission-daemon running on the NAS):

Of course you have to enable authentication, and make sure your PC IP address is listed (or disable the option), not only 127.0.0.1 which is 'localhost' as the daemon sees it (the NAS).
