What does "Your client is not on the whitelist" mean?

Post by Taz842 »

I just downloaded the Transmission 2.50 update and I got an error message that I've never seen before and I can't understand what it means. Right after the update, Transmission reloaded and under each torrent it now reads: "Tracker returned error: your client is not on the whitelist."

Can anyone tell me what this means and what I have to do to fix it so it functions normally again? Thanks!

It's an error from the tracker. Some trackers use whitelists and only permit certain clients and versions. Your tracker will need to update their whitelist to include Transmission 2.50.

Thank you very much for your quick reply!

So there's nothing to do but wait until the whitelist is updated I take it?

Right. You could request that the tracker update their list, but that's it.
