special TM-version needed

Post by NeBuKa »

Dear All,

do you know if there's an TM 2.32-version available which will run on ASUS NAS-M25 which is using: Marvell modified Linux with kernel 2.6.22

Would be great if someone could help me out with this request.

Does anyone here do have any knowledge how to get an newer Transmission-version installed on NAS-M25? Currently, it's 1.02 (!!!)!

Thx 2 all,

Talk to ASUS since the Transmission devs them self are not doing any such custom builds.

Your other option is to compile it yourself.

Here's a good place to start: https://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/Building

Any more problems and such would most likely be related to ASUS's distribution and/or compiling software in general and thus not be fully appropriate here. You could still ask us but I would at least make a new thread in either support or general for it.

Hi,

Could you please release a new apkg of Transmission client for the Asus NAS-M25?
The latest version available is 2.03 :(
What would be great to have possibility to choose in preferences: temp folder for download; download complete save to folder...

Could someone compile a new version?

Thank you.

Also, check with https://www.startpage.com.
Hi,

Already talked to Asus, but they won't release a newer version (outdated product).

or...

check your log file (ask ASUS) or run daemon with some appropriate 'man transmission-daemon' options set.

http://linux.die.net/man/1/transmission-daemon

https://www.startpage.com/do/asearch Search terms 'transmissionbt +asus'.
I connected the disk directly to pc and found the config file. Here it is: http://we.tl/WvfdRba5Jf

Now the download appears on disk 1 on "downloads" folder. I think it's this string: "download-dir": "/mnt/md1/Downloads"
What I want to do: temp folder (downloads?) on disk one and, after download is complete, move to disk 2 to folder "Downloads".

If you have the knowledge, could you please help me?

Thank you.

I think I might be able to do it. I'm going to try it.
"download-dir: String (default = default locations)
incomplete-dir: String (default = default locations) Directory to keep files in until torrent is complete.
incomplete-dir-enabled: Boolean (default = false) When enabled, new torrents will download the files to incomplete-dir. When complete, the files will be moved to download-dir."

I think this is it. What do you think?
Previously:
"download-dir": "/mnt/md1/Downloads", "encryption": 1, "incomplete-dir": "/tmp/Downloads", "incomplete-dir-enabled": false,

Now:
"download-dir": "/mnt/md2/Downloads", "encryption": 1, "incomplete-dir": "/mnt/md1/Downloads", "incomplete-dir-enabled": true,

I'll be able to test it in a few days - I'll let you know how it worked out...

And it worked!
Temp downloads on disk 1 and when complete, moves the files to disk 2
