Slow, Stoping, Not Starting Torrents

Post by Irishshen »

Hello All!!

I have been having serious issues with my torrents as of late. My network is not the issue. I have done speed tests and I am getting 26Down and 1.00Up

I was always getting great speeds 500-2megs on popular torrents. Now im lucky if I get 50kb. Some of them start, go slow, then stop. Some do not start at all.

i am completely stumped. I have not changed anything in transmission and my port is open. Please help, anyone!

I checked all these. I do not see anything on here that would contrite to an " all of a sudden" complete halt to all my torrents, no matter how "good" the torrent is.

I was downloading like I said from 500-2megs daily for months and months.

I do not know how to give a full report of my system or crash report. If anyone has any other help it would be appreciated

what version of Transmission are you using, I have version 2.80 web client (i Think it was) add adding torrents and downloading was SLOW, like to add a link torrent would take 2 minutes to show up on the web client then for it to start downloading and connect to peers it was like 15 minutes, I downgraded to version 2.72 and then it started working just fine, Although adding torrents is still ike 15 - 60 second for it to show up on the web client, but when it shows up it is fast to start downloading at least

If your on the mac, uninstall the one you are using, then download and install a earlier version.

also for mac some have found that using a version that
Collect unwanted, but received, blocks in a separate file
can also be good. Mac download is here https://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/532#comment:204

excuse my ignorance but what are these .zip files?

Are they different files? or is just one file? Any is it a downgrade you are recommending with these?

Thank you again!

this is an un-official but very well tested build with all of the current bug and crash fixes but running a 2.7x core

unzip the downloaded file to find the Transmission.app
