I occasionally have used Transmission in the past to download 20-30 files so am not an expert, but it has always worked flawlessly with a couple of bit torrent sites.
Last night I tried downloading a file from a couple of sites and always get the message "torrent metadata needed", or "magnetized transfer - torrent metadata needed".
I get this on each file I try to download and from a couple of different sites, even though there may be 50-500 seeds present.
This may have started when I installed the newest version of Transmission, I'm not sure. I have 2.82 (14160) for iMac.
Have I inadvertently changed a setting or need to change a setting? This is a message I have never received before during several dozen easy downloads.
Thanks.

Re: Torrent metadata needed
I suddenly seem to have a communications problem. Upon further look, I am not seeding anything either, although have a 20:1 ratio. I have deactivated the Mac firewall, although I'm sure that has always been turned on, and checked to randomize port, although the port shows 'green', open.
I appear to not be communicating through transmission at all. Still checking things. This is quite a turn of events as this has always worked flawlessly.

Re: Torrent metadata needed
It seems that there have snuck in a fair amount of "problems" with the 2.8x versions of Transmission, at least according to what I have read here.
The very little advice I can give now is to either wait for 2.83 or use a 2.7x version.

Re: Torrent metadata needed
Thanks for the feedback. I am running 2.50 now and seems to be downloading and seeding smoothly like before.
Re: Torrent metadata needed
looks like this might alleviate my issue mentioned above. I'll try to reinstall too abs let y'all know.
