"Could not connect to tracker"

Post by brady7 »

Hi all.

On one particular torrent site (I gather we're not supposed to name names) I get the following problem:

A 1/2 hr or so after restarting transmission, all torrents from this one particular site/tracker will say "could not connect to tracker" when I click on the tracker tab. Those that I have already downloaded from this site seem to be able to seed anyway, but new downloads will not start; I have to quit & restart transmission, at which time the new torrents start downloading, & all torrents will display as normal for another 1/2 hr or so...then back to "could not connect to tracker".
I asked in that site's forum if anyone else had the same problem, & several others did; we are all on the latest (2.84) transmission, & all on OSX 10.6.8. & it seems to be a relatively new problem (I only noticed 4 days ago)

All other torrents from other sites are working like normal.

Port is open, canyouseeme.org confirms.

Thanks.

For the 1st time in about a week, this particular tracker's torrents are all fine this morning, after leaving them running all night, ie do not show as "could not connect to tracker"; I downloaded a torrent from the site, & it came through fine, I did not need to quit & re-start as before. Will post again if it changes.

Thanks.
