I'm not very fimiliar with building from source, but I gave it a go on my Centos 6 box.
I ended up with binary files 10 times larger than the current 2.92 files (installed from Geekery).
Did I do something wrong ? Is there an option I should be setting, i'm sure these should not be 10x bigger.
Alternatively, does anyone know of a Centos 6 Repo for 2.93 ?
The Geekery ones are still on 2.92, and dont seem like they are maintained anymore.
Build from Source (2.93)
Re: Build from Source (2.93)
Just a thought, there is a strip command that removes all the debugging information. Also check the optimization and debug flags.
I've started to look to do a build as the support for a centos rpm does not seem current.

Thanks.
The strip command did the job, they are now "normal" size and happily working.
