On my 2015 MacBook Pro with 2.9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, running on latest Transmission 2.94
Transmission was on ~10% CPU usage, which isn't low but acceptable. But causes Kernel_Task to be constantly at 25% to 35% usage. Stopping All transfer immediately drops down to normal 5-10% range. No Memory Pressure so this shouldn't be an memory issue.
Was downloading from WiFi, Destination being my NAS. So this is full Wireless Downloading and Uploading at the same time. Speed was around 3-5 MB/s. I have Gigabit Fibre so 5MB/s isn't exactly fast.
High CPU and Kernel_Task Usage.
Re: High CPU and Kernel_Task Usage.
Having Same issues again. In current slow speed 300KB/s everything is ok, Once it goes up to MB/s or a few MB/s things start heating up.
Re: High CPU and Kernel_Task Usage.
I think the issues is definitely less of a problem on Transmission 3.0 Just tested it out, Transmission CPU usage is lower even at 3 - 6 MB/s. but Kernel_Task is still fairly high at 30-40%.
