I don't know man but I would have created a new post. That one was almost a year old before you replied to it!
Are you still using 10.5.2? I'm using 1.50 and 10.5.6. I don't have any problems like that. Have you tested your Memory and Hard Drive lately?

Well it sounded like the same issue. I figured this was better than reopening the failed data ticket on trac in the event its not related.
I am running 10.4.11 with all the latest updates. If there was a hardware issue it should be failing regardless of what version of Transmission I'm running.
I first noticed the failed data being an issue immediately after updating from 1.40 to 1.42. I figured maybe it was a poisoned swarm or a tracker issue but several other torrents are having the same problem and it goes away after switching back to 1.40 and waiting for the failed data to be flushed out. I suppose it could still be poisoned swarms as with versions prior to 1.50 I have trouble connecting to many peers and perhaps I'm just lucky with it not connecting to the ones uploading bad data but that seems rather unlikely?

Hey, I'm using Transmission 1.60 beta 1 (8300) with OS X 10.5.6 and I don't know if this is because I have the beta version (though I stopped using Transmission for a while because of this problem, I hoped it would be fixed by now.)
Is it just me... or is this plain ridiculous?

I have a +1MBit connection and after a day of downloading over 40% is failed download! 3 whole gigabytes! Come on Transmission devs, let's fix this.

I'm having the exact same problem. I started with 1.6 beta, then switched to 1.52 about halfway through, thinking it would fix the problems with huge amounts of Failed Data. It didn't, and I am still having lots of failed data,it is actually driving my progress backwards at times as more and more fails.

I believe I may have figured out the cause, at least for me. I have dialup so I must use ICS to connect to the internet with my macs. Now all the time it was fine I was using XP as the ICS host. The problem started when I switched to Vista iirc and used that as the ICS host. I also get SSL errors making it pretty much impossible to use encrypted sites with Vista as the host. Low and behold I switch back to XP as the ICS host and no more corrupted data. Unfortunately I need Vista for my DX10 games and I haven't been able to find anything useful about the issue googling.
