i'm still getting regular full system crashes when torrent clients are running. i've also had one or two when they're not.
bring on 10.6.2, and if it's not fixed then, there'll be trouble...

I believe I may have found a solution to this problem. Log in to your modem/router, and disable UPnP.
I can confirm that, at least in my case, this resolves the issue where running Transmission (or any other torrent client) kills all other internet connectivity. In my case, when I had active torrents running this affected not only my ability to use Safari & other internet applications on my mac, but also affected any other device connected to my router, such as PS3 & iPhone.

My "router" doesn't have UPnP. And if it had, that security hole would long have been disabled.
