Hi,

I hope I'm placing this at the right place, but I've got the next question.
I'm using transmission for mac to download torrents.
My internetprofider has a prohibition on uploading.
So my question is, when I put my bandwith limit on 0 kb/s no one can upload right?
Does this also mean that no one can see the torrent.
What I'm trying to say is that when I do that; I'm not offering it online even though no one can upload it?

I hope you can help me with my question.
Thanks :)

Do the torrents have trackers? Do you have PEX and DHT enabled?

Then the torrents can be seen.

Most torrent clients use unlimited bandwidth, when set to 0. I'm not sure about Transmission.

HTH

BTW if you can't upload don't download. The purpose of torrents is to share.

How can you see if a torrent has trackers? I don't know exactly what that are.

Transmission calls 0 kb/s limited. So that makes me think it is 0 and the lowest possible.

BTW: I can upload and upload when I'm at a different location, just not everywhere I am. So i'm sharing ;)
