Update of transmission from sources...

Hi there!
I WAS using a deb package of the latest version, but it was creating me some troubles generating the config file (never generated!), so I installed and older version (1.7 or 1.9 cannot remember atm), and it's working fine.
Now i wanna update transmission using the sources...
Right now i'm compiling the latest tarball.

I would like to know one thing.... when i'll perform "make install", will the new 2.x version overwrite the config file? will it be ok? should i perform something befor updating?

No.

When you run transmission it will use and modify it. As far as I know there are no problems with that, other that it leaves old obsolete options intact (so the settings.json file is slowly growing with the garbage accumulated).
