Could someone please help?
I was able to download but it stopped for a couple of days. I re-installed Transmission to see if it works but no avail. I use a Mac 10.4.11 and transmission ver. is 1.54
Transmission No Tracker Response Downloading 0%
Re: Transmission No Tracker Response Downloading 0%
If the problem is "no tracker response" as you say, then nothing you can change in Transmission will help, its either a problem at the tracker (server not on-line, or they blocked you) or something in your side is blocking communication with it (firewall on router or gateway, or firewall/"Internet Security" on your computer.)
To be able to download you need to see the seeders and other peers with pieces that you don't have, so first priority is to get that information either through the tracker, or DHT if it applies to the particular case.

Thank you for your reply. If I look on the torrent there seems to be many other peers on-line. Is there a way to make sure my defaulf setting on transmission is set correctly? Should I also start all over and delete Tranmission from the Mac and re-install it, how do I need to do this to make sure its completely wiped?
I checked the firewall/ security settings and its fine.

Do you mean looking at the "Peers list" at the tracker Website, or seeders and leachers count?Gena wrote:Thank you for your reply. If I look on the torrent there seems to be many other peers on-line.
If you want to get back to default settings, one way is to:Is there a way to make sure my defaul[t] setting on transmission [are] set correctly?
- Close the application;
- Find your user's settings.json (usually in the user's home directory, under sub-directory .transmission);
- Rename it, something like settings-backup.json (so you can check things you changed later if you want);
- Start the application. This will create a new settings.json with only a few default values.
No need for that.Should I also start all over and delete Tran[s]mission from the Mac and re-install it, how do I need to do this to make sure its completely wiped?
OK. And the port is open? not necessary for downloading, but it may prevent some trackers banning you for not seeding.I checked the firewall/ security settings and its fine.
