speed of files

i use Transmission 1.93 on ubuntu 10.4.

2 questions:
1__usually my download (D+U) speed is about 200 Kib/s, 75% of that speed usually goes on upload and 25% on download (i don't use limits so the upload goes faster, but that's not a problem).
sometimes (rarely) i got some torrent files from which i can download at 500KiB/s (in addition at the 150KiB/s in upload--->650 Kib/s).
finished these files all come back to 200 Kib/s.
why?
I've to say that aren't differences in the number of the peers (about many, also here with no limits)

2__I've a big torrent that i'm downloading by many months, but indipendently by the numbers of active downloads or uploads it goes always about 10/20KiB/s (i've tried to pause the others torrents but nothing changes)). it has a ratio of 1.82, has many seeds, also many leech (but more seeds, abour thousands as i saw sometimes).
its peers download about 0.7, 1.7, 2.7, occasionally at 5/6KiB/s, and many don't donwload anything.
i've tried to modify the priority, but doesn't change
how can i do faster this download?
