Feature - Setting speed limits per torrent

Post by magnus.overli »

Hi all!

I have a remote server on a fiber connection and so I am controlling transmission via the Web UI. I really miss the option to set speed limits per torrent. Some torrents need to be prioritized seeding targets and others have no need to be seeded at all (or close). This would be a very welcome addition!
Other than that, I am quite happy the with the setup transmission allows me to have! :-)

yes, I want to control the max upload speed and maybe the max upload slots per individual torrent. This would be great for rare but importent torrents and limited traffic volume for servers.
Additional I wish to be able to see and change the torrent-priority in the webinterface.

The daemon already supports this I think. You can set the limits per torrent using Transmission Remote (GUI).

Yes, Opperpanter is correct, the option is already there... just not in the Web client. You can also use Transmission-Qt with a remote session to do that, and to control priorities (which don't really work*), and max. number of peers, and individual seeding ratio, and many other options.

* I reported the bug, but my report was tagged as invalid -- I don't agree with the report being invalid.

I often have to set dl and/or ul limits, and often the limits are exceeded considerably! I end up having to reduce the number of connected peers, sometimes drastically. Why doesn't Transmission force the limit to be maintained?
