http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/transmission-1-33 is a little out-of-date, but its author hit the same question back in Transmission 1.33 and solved it by running ldconfig:

You will need to run the command ldconfig after you install every package to properly initiate libraries.

$ ldconfig

(If you forget you will receive this error when you try to run transmission-daemon: can't load
