Can't connect to more than 50 peers regardless of settings

Hi,

I have been using Transmission for awhile now, and I've got all of the settings pretty well worked out. My port is forwarded, etc. I don't have any bandwidth issues, this is not a problem with bandwidth.

The problem is that Transmission will not create more than 50 connections globally. Also, I am usually only downloading from about 20% of the connections that have been established, which I assume is normal although I don't understand it.

I have obviously set the "max global connections" as the "max connections for new transfers" settings under the "Peers" tab in preferences, currently they are set to 500, but it appears to have no effect. I've restarted Transmission several times and even the server. My computer is a Mac Mini server 4.1, with Mac OS X Server 10.6.8. I'm using a Dlink DIR-655 router. It seems unlikely that the server or the router would limit the global connections at something as low as 50.

Any ideas? Currently downloading from 16/50 peers

Have you made any per-torrent settings in the Inspector->Options window?
Yes, that was the problem! It must set that property when I first add the torrent and not update it again, and it was set to 50. Now downloading from 90/300 peers and rising, thanks!
