server not respond

Hi,
I have a network multimedia player, it use a mips cup (rtd 1073) and linux operation.
I added a new sata harddisk on it and then the player formated it as a NTFS partion.
I use the transmission of the player,but the transmission often show the message "server not respond" and then crashed.
After the transmission crashed,the player must to verfy the date which had downloaded, and the verfy operation cost a long time.
How to solve this problem? Thanks!

I strongly advise against using NTFS on a device with little processing power.
