Belkin F7D4401 - Which transmission user interface?

Hi,
I've recently bought a Belkin router which has a transmission client running on it. Considering that they suppose that only windows users want their routers, I should only use such feature through their vuze client. I don't want at all to use such a poor piece of software, but I can't find a working user interface. Web interface doesn't work, it says that transmission can't find webinterface files (but this also means that transmission is listening on the standard port).
The only thing that partially works it's transgui because it's the only gui that supports such an old transmission version (that seems to be the 1.75+). But when I shut down my pc, it seems that all downloading torrents stop and never resume until I resend the torrent to the router through transgui. Pretty annoying.

So, any suggestion?

BTW, is correct that belkin and/or vuze guys should release also their transmission source code?

I cannot update it, the whole thing it's pretty closed, so I can't even set environment variables. I already tried because the message I get when I try to connect to the web interface talks about a web interface variable.

Yesterday I took a look at http://www.belkin.com/support/opensource/, but my router isn't listed. Very strange since it's very clear that a linux kernel is running on it (connected hard disks are mounted in "/mnt") and I assume that linux and transmission are still open source. I can't contact belkin guys, you have to be registered to contact them, but the registration system seems to be broken so I have to ask to transmission devs if they can do something to have transmission source code available.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was talking about their transmission source code since it seems that they are using a modified version of the client.

If you mean a modified source that Belkin is using then no the Transmission devs can't help you with that, since Belkin is not obligated to send back any modifications nor is the original source obligated to keep track of any modified versions.

This is all in Belkin's hands.

Well, any version of the GPL license forces the programmer to release his/her modifications, at least on request (talking about the linux kernel that runs on those routers, for instance). Since I cannot contact Belkin customer service because their online system seems to be broken I was wandering about devs who maybe have a chance. Maybe they haven't, of course.

BTW, I find out a way to use the transmission client of the router. It's just a simple and hidden web interface, http://192.168.2.1:8082/gui.html

I don't really know why they created a hidden webui, very slow, poor and ugly when transmission has its fully functioning own.

Not properly happy, but "ok".
x190 wrote: Still, there should be a way to update the client, one would think. Where are all the linux kernel on router/nas pros?
That's exactly the point. Actually Belkin already released the source code and the toolchain for their routers in which there is a linux kernel (http://www.belkin.com/support/opensource/). They also released a set of script to automatically compile the source. I'm intending it as "you can do whatever you want with the source, including changing some features". That's why I'm trying every damned day to contact them to have the code (and I know they have to give it if I ask for it). I'm not a programming freak, but I know something of C and, with your help, I want to recompile the firmware to have a real transmission client on my router.

And you think the Transmission devs have some other way to contact Belkin for this purpose than those that are available to you?
