Automatic import torrent files fails

Hi everyone,
Iḿ experiencing problems with the automatic import of torrent files. I've selected a folder that Transmission should watch but it doesn't pick up the torrents i place in there until i restart transmission. I've checked the settings.json file an "watch-torrents" is enabled and the folder is defined however Transmission will not start the downloads... Iḿ using transmission 2.33 (12565) on Ubuntu oneiric (11.10).
Does anyone experience the same problem or does anyone know a solution for this since I haven't got any idea why it isn picking them up...
