Best NAS for Transmission

Hi,
Recently a friend asked me which is the best NAS to use with transmission and I couldn't tell him. I currently use the DNS-323 with headless Transmission (internet GUI) and this setup works great for me, but I know the DNS-323 is pretty old and there must be some very good alternatives out there.
Do you guys know which NAS is currently the state of the art for Transmission use? I like that DNS-323 has pretty good community support (specially Mr. Shadowandy). Do we have another one with higher performance?
