Chrome Remote Transmission problem

Not sure of this is the right place to post this.
I've been using the Chrome Remote Transmission extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... efjehchoja) for about a year with no real issues but a week or two ago it stopped being able to add new torrents, giving an error saying "invalid or corrupt torrent file", no matter what torrent I try to add. I did some debugging in Chrome and this response is being returned from Transmission (2.33, running on a White Light WD World Edition). If I use a desktop client (Transmission Remote,running on Windows XP) the exact same torrent URL works fine, and the Chrome extension still functions fine in every other way apart from adding new torrents.
Is anyone else seeing this? As far as I know nothing has changed recently, although Chrome may have automatically upgraded itself. It's currently version 21.0.1180.75.

Edit#2: Just noticed that people have been reporting this problem in the reviews in the Chrome app store. Looks like I'll have to try to fix it myself.
