Hello, I'm having a bit of trouble with transmission taking over more resources than it needs, i think.
My problem is that transmission is located on my media centre computer which is basically our station for everything public so the whole family can use it, it is connected by an ethernet wire to the wifi hub. The rest of us use our laptops with wifi but it seems when the torrent client program is open on the media centre the wifi users are slowed dramatically, a specific issue is that web pages you are visiting take a long time to respond and load.
The issue seems also to have no bearing on how active the torrent client is, all downloads may be complete and only a slight amount of uploading is taking place but still the issue persists. If anyone can shed some light on this i'd be grateful.
Currently all computers on the system are running linux.
