How to change completed folder?

In the web interface there's an option to change where completed torrents go by clicking on the gear->preferences, but only issue is half the time it never takes. The torrents end up going nowhere, they just vanish. Is there another way to change the folder? I like to make a folder for each month so it's easier to find stuff, and I don't have to do a cleanup and can continue seeding longer. I hate having everything all bunched into one folder so I like to change it as I go. It seems to only work when it wants. I even reboot the whole server after doing the change, sometimes this works, othertimes not. Any way to get this to work?
