Transmission

i've received some letters from the french hadopi (i live in france) and they tell me that i've used utorrent protocol to download illegal contents. i'd like to know if transmission uses the utorrent protocol or not ? thanks.

They are most likely referring to uTP ( uTorrent Transport Protocol, a.k.a bittorrent over UDP) and yes Transmission supports it since it is nowadays the preferred way due to having better congestion control.
