Difference between "download speed" & actual download speed
Difference between "download speed" & actual download speed
Just a general question - I've recently changed my ISP and taken an 8mbps download speed connection. When using Transmission, I'm hitting a download speed limit of about 650kbps that I can't break through. Is anyone able to explain why this is? With my previous ISP I was getting at least double this as a minimum, so it's not the hardware or local cables. And it's pissing me off.
Re: Difference between "download speed" & actual download sp
The advertised speed is 8mbps, the (average) results via speedtest.net was maxing out at about 6mbps. Often it was slower, but still it's in mbps not kbps. This is what I'm confused by. Why am I not downloading via Transmission at over 1mbps?
