WebUI on iPad

Hi,
I'm having trouble using the default web UI on a new iPad pro. The user interface loads but I get a connection failed when it tries to load torrents to display.
The confusing thing is it works via my android phones and desktop browsers.
Is there anything specific I need to be aware of with using the UI on iOS?
Update - seems I'm getting error 401 on calls to the RPC service.
