Torrents disappear in Transmission on a mac

Sorry to bother but I ra in to a problem. I restarted my client and all the torrents were gone but I still have the files.I can re dl and start seeding but want to know why this is happening. Also when I go to the sites I use, it looks like i'm still seeding. Very strange. Thank u in advance.
