Recently, I noticed Transmission doesn't cache downloaded files as well as it used to be, I honestly don't remember when this started to happen. But I remember in the past, download speed doesn't get affected by hard disk speed, Transmission simply caches everything in RAM, though it took a long time to write the cache to disk if I need quit Transmission before everything is done.
But recently, I noticed simply a couple of high-speed downloads would bring Transmission to a halt, the download would dramatically slow down (from hundreds of Mb/s to like 5Mb/s) from time to time waiting hard drive to finish writing and resume again only after a min or so. If I switch the download drive to an SSD, even SATA one would make the issue disappear.
Is there a way to make current Transmission use my RAM (64GB) more efficiently? I really prefer not to use my SSD for BT purpose.
Thanks
