Transmission GTK connection closes when closing window

Hello, this might be a bit of a beginner question: I searched for this topic but couldnt find anything hence I'm posting it here: I am running Linux Mint with transmission gtk GUI. The issue I'm facing is that when I close the Transmission GUI window, it stops (pauses) all my torrents with the message "Closing Connections". When I start it again, it resumes the torrents.
I used the Transmission QT client in Windows 10 and it kept the torrents running even when I closed the window.
Is there a way to keep the torrents running in the background in GTK even when window is closed -- something in the preferences or settings ? or should I look into command line alternatives like `transmission-daemon` and `transmission-remote`?
