macOS Ventura 13.6.7
I use a VPN and Little Snitch.
I have used transmission for years and never had a problem. A few months ago I started to add more torrents for long term seeding from an external HDD. I now have a few hundreds. I had upped the peer limits to something like 200 per torrent and 500 global.
At a certain point in time Transmission started to hang randomly. What I mean is that it doesn't manage to make any connection after launch, both seeding or downloading. I cannot even stop and relaunch a single torrent, and in the tracker tab under the "next announce" section it counts down in negative numbers. I don't know if that is clear enough or I should attach a screenshot. When this happens I have to force quit the software. If I try to just quit it goes into spinning wheel and never quits.
This happens randomly, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. If I force quit and relaunch it eventually works. I don't think this has anything to do with the VPN, or my HDD, or my OS because qBittorrent is working fine.
I didn't try to delete all the torrents and just start from scratch, because that would take forever and I mainly want to know how to prevent it from happening again.
I have found a console hang file from a few days ago but I am not sure that it will be related.
Not sure anybody will be able to help, but I am throwing this out there with hope
