Cant get port to open
I had to reinstall leopard a few days ago and am slowly getting everything set up again. I cant seem to get transmission to like any ports. I have all the updates for Transmission. My router is a linksys wrt54g with dd-wrt firmware. I have port 51345 forwarded on my router with my internal ip address but transmission always says the port is closed. The last time i set up transmission everything went smoothly but now i cant seem to get it to cooperate. What should i do?
Re: Cant get port to open
Same problem here. I'm running version 1.40 (7084), and ever since upgrading to this version, it says the port is not open. It always worked before.
Re: Cant get port to open
There were no changes to the port opening code between 1.34 and 1.40.413X3 wrote:Same problem here. I'm running version 1.40 (7084), and ever since upgrading to this version, it says the port is not open. It always worked before.
Re: Cant get port to open
well its possible it didn't work in a previous update... suddenly I looked in the settings and the port says not open. my router has upnp... and i even manually opened the port and still not open.
Re: Cant get port to open
I use 1.34 and port is not a stable open. With Azureus port was always open.
Re: Cant get port to open
On mine too, the port status shows "Port is closed". I'm not worried though since I transfers are downloading at reasonable speed.
Re: Cant get port to open
Same here. I've switched back to Transmission, and can't get the listening port to open. Works fine for Azureus. I'm familiar with my router's functionality, and have opened the port there and assigned it to my Mac, which is on a static IP address. Tried restarting the modem a couple of times, stopping and starting Transmission, nothing seems to work.
Re: Cant get port to open
Put your log level to debug. Restart Transmission. Open your log and see if you get a message that port has been successfully forwarded.

I have an airport express, in which I've enabled NAT port mapping, and running Leopard. I cant' get port mapping to work. This is my debug log:

Re: Cant get port to open
I'm in same boat. MBP. Transmission 1.4. Can't get indication port is open. Linksys router with port forwarded to my (static) IP on my home network. User log:rwarding failed with error 718 (errno 22 - Unknown error: 0)

Hope I can get this fixed. Am d/l'ing, but not u/l'ing. Makes my ratio bad. Makes me feel sneaky.

Re: Cant get port to open
For some reason, the default port was blocked. Went to canyouseeme.org and entered it. It was blocked. So, I entered a different port, close to one I know is open, and changed it in port forwarding and my transmission preferences.
Now it is open.
Darned ISPs. I suspect.
So, those with this problem might want to try a different port.

Re: Cant get port to open
Yup. I have same problem. Transmission was fine until I upgraded to 1.40.

Now can't get any port to open.
Using Azureus for now but would love to get Transmission back as it's
that much cooler.

Re: Cant get port to open
I can't use Azureus or Vuze. They crash MAC OSX all the time.
I'll stick with Transmission and I recommend you do too.
