[FIXED] 1.42 dl/ul troubles

Post by buggsy2 »

1.42 on an NSLU2 Unsling
No dl/ul limits

Successfully, tho slowly, downloading a large (40+ GB) torrent. However other torrents have no activity. In particular 3 recently added torrents have not downloaded a byte and on the transmission web interface show 0 peers or seeds, but right now when I tried the identical torrents on a PC with utorrent, they immediately began downloading at 60KB/s each, with one uploading at ~ 25KB/s. On utorrent they show several peers and seeds. Both the NSLU2 and the PC go thru the same router to a DSL modem.

Does the problem persist in 1.50b3?

Don't know...I'd like to try but the latest NSLU2 transmission version is 1.42. This may be the incentive I need to figure out how to do cross-compiles for it on an xubuntu lappy.

With Transmission 1.42 running, if I download a torrent document (is that what the "pointer" file is called?) with a web browser, when the download is added to Transmission, it remains zero progress until I quit and relaunch Transmission. Then it downloads normally.

With the download sitting at zero, I tried pausing and un-pausing the download. Nothing gets it moved off of zero unless I quit and relaunch.

I have not tried any of the newer beta versions.

Forgot to add...

This zero progress I mentioned above was with torrents that have thousands of seeders. Once the downloads got started (by quitting & relaunching Transmission) the torrent downloads completed very quickly (within a few hours).

Finally tried 1.50, and the problem is fixed. Working quite well on the little slug @ 4-5 watts.
