I Finally Got an Open Port, But It's Still Not Downloading!

Post by MillerName »

The lights are one, but no one's home.

I'm running Leopard (10.5.6) on a 13" MacBook with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I'm now using Transmission 1.51 (7958). To connect to the internet, I'm using a TP-Link wireless router.

My first problems started after my flatmate unplugged the router for the second time. My files were no longer downloading because the port had closed. I Toggled my UPnP settings and got the green light (Port is open) again, but nothing downloaded. So I trashed the preferences, reinstalled, and even tried two other bit torrent clients (Tomato Torrent and btpd-front 0.186) and those didn't download the torrents either.

Despite getting a green light, could it be that I still need to do something with port forwarding? My flatmate is using Transmission on her computer running Linux Unbuntu and it seems to be working fine. Any ideas?

If you get a green light then there is probably nothing wrong with port forwarding.
try to pause and restart the torrents themself (so not the program but the torrent)

I tried that and removing the torrents from my queue and re-adding them. No luck.

I'm having the exact same problem. I moved into a building with a shared network. I just plug the ethernet cord into the wall and voila, so there's no router that I've access to. When I opened Transmission preferences it said my port was closed. I switched to port 80 which is open but my files are still stuck at 'downloading 0 from 0 peers'. Help?
